Calendar talk is a great way to create a routine for your students while organically introducing and reviewing weather, date, emotions, and birthdays. Keep up your calendar talk routine while introducing a new invention or notable Black history figure for each day in February.

There are so many inventions used in every day life and Black people that have made contributions to society that students may not be aware of. This calendar talk resource will inform students about some of the things that a vital in our everyday lives that were created by Black inventors and trailblazers.

Each image takes you to a different slide with either calendar talk pages, mini passage about people and inventions, and personal questions.

There are 29 days to explore and additional days just in case you’d like to switch it up.

Calendar Talk

Talk about the date, weather, emotions and birthdays daily with students. These slides will help you to create a daily routine for students and provide input on a daily basis to teach students to communicate about the date, weather, emotions, and birthdays.

Notable People and Inventors

Explore notable figures from the past and present! Slides are written in past and present tense and are editable so that you can make changes to meet the needs of students.

Use these slides in a presentation at the start of each class or make a bulletin board for students to discover new information all month long!

Personal Questions

Chat with students about a variety of topics to help them make connections to the day being explored.

Find Someone Who

Get students up and moving after exploring inventors, inventions, famous figures and more. Students will revisit and review everything they’ve learned throughout February.
