Do you start your school year with routines? One routine that I love to do with students is calendar talk! Routines are great for repetition but that can also get a little boring. We know repetition is great for students in language classes but there is a way to make it more interesting.
I took calendar talk to another level by using the National Days! Yes! There is a national day for each day of the year and I created a calendar to help you incorporate them into calendar talk for a fun class starter EVERY DAY! It’s great warm up and addition to the daily routine in your Spanish Class.
This resource provides:

- slides to talk with students about the weather, emotions, birthdays, and the date in Spanish every day!

Scavenger Hunt
Have a class that loves to move? Use this scavenger hunt as a collaborative activity for students! They will love reading and finding the correct day.
Instagram Project
Students obsessed with social media? This project appeals to students knowledge of Instagram. Students will draw an image to represent 12 national days to complete an Instagram profile.
Then, they will write captions and hashtags for six of the days they chose.
National Day Calendar Talk Project
Need an independent activity for students? Post the interactive calendar on the projector and let students research and create a mini flyer about the national day.
