My students worked hard, but were very confused using the English version of this resource. They did not understand how to complete the South American map since the reading listed countries in Latin America and Europe as well; we ended up doing this portion together. They were also confused when connecting the countries to the holiday’s name as the reading did not include all of the countries listed. When doing the multiple choice, students found the answers difficult to locate and were frustrated that some answers were in Spanish even though the questions were in English. Finally, since Christopher Columbus Day is no longer really celebrated, they did not know how to answer the reflection question that compared it to Dia de la raza.
