This was a perfect activity for students to honor MLK Jr. It gave them great examples to speak about his life in Spanish. They enjoyed the color by numbers as opposed to straight questions. Its was a big hit!

I loved having something different for students to work on after we read about MLK. Students always enjoy these activities – I love that they get more input but they think it’s a coloring activity!

Wow! This resource has so much to offer in terms of differentiation! My seventh grade students really enjoyed this activity, both reading about MLK in Spanish and coloring in class. The text is comprehensible and wasn’t too challenging even for my students who struggle with comprehension. I currently have their finished products hanging in my classroom and have gotten lots of compliments from other teachers and admin. All the credit goes to the awesome creator, Jade!

I loved the ways to adapt this resource and the different levels for differentiation. The best fit for my novices was to gloss a few words in the reading and then have them respond to the English questions. I love that there were questions about MLK as well as vocabulary from the reading. Next year I may use this over two days and have them complete one of the vocabulary defining ones and the next day complete the questions. It would be great to have this as a scaffolded embedded reading, easier to use over two days or just for differentiation.
