St. Patrick’s Day or El Día de San Patricio is a popular holiday celebrating Irish culture. You might be wondering how this relates to your class or how you can it be relevant for Spanish class? Well, guess what? St. Patrick’s Day is not only celebrated in Ireland. There are Spanish-speaking countries that celebrate El Día de San Patricio and I have some St. Patrick’s Day activities that’ll be great for Spanish class.
St. Patrick’s Day Reading Comprehension + Activities
Teach students about St. Patrick’s Day with this reading comprehension passage. Students will read about origin, decorations, countries that celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, foods, symbols and interesting facts.
Students will answer comprehension questions from the reading. The reading passage will prepare them for the activity that I’m sure they will find more fun; the word search and the crossword.
St. Patrick’s Day Super 7 Color By Number
Reviewing the Super 7 is never a bad idea, right? For this activity, students will read sentences related to St. Patrick’s Day and complete them with the correct form of the Super 7 verbs. Reinforce Spanish high frequency verbs with beginners and review with upper level students while having a little fun for St. Patrick’s Day.
To color the St. Patrick’s Day image, students will need to answer the questions correctly.

St. Patrick’s Day Doodle Questions
Decoding? Yes! Students will love this activity. Students will use the key to decode all of the vocabulary words related to St. Patrick’s Day. Then, they will draw images to represent those images.

Teach or review vocabulary about St. Patrick’s Day with this I Spy activity. Students will find the images from the word bank. Then, they will practice sentence building with the St. Patrick’s Day vocabulary.
