Do you use fortune tellers or comecocos in your Spanish class? They can be great to add a little variety for a speaking activity AND getting students up and moving. Check out these 3 tips for fortune teller activities.
TIP 1:
Demonstrate Folding
Show students how to fold the fortune tellers the first time. What helps me is to not fold directly on the lines. The fortune teller moves much smoother and doesn’t rip that way.
TIP 2:
Set a Timer
Give students a time limit for the length of the activity or session. Five to seven minutes has always been a sweet spot for speaking activities.
TIP 3:
Partner Switch
This ties right in with setting a time. You could set a time limit and have students switch partners as soon as both students have asked and answered a question OR you can set a timer for one minute to have students switch partners every minute.
