After reading, students will answer comprehension questions based on the reading. For review, students will chat about what they’ve learned using the quiz quiz trade style activity I like to call prueba y pasa.
Students will learn about:

- countries that celebrate
- traditional food
- decorations
- celebratory traditions in other Spanish-speaking countries
- and more
There is also a cultural comparison activity. Students will complete a Venn diagram comparing La Semana Santa to a holiday or celebration from their country or culture.
La Semana Santa Comayagua Street Carpets Color By Number
Already taught your students about Semana Santa? – Use this activity to have them take a deeper look at the traditions for Semana Santa in Honduras. Students will read about the beautiful and intricate street carpets made in Comayagua, Honduras.
Students will answer questions in English or Spanish using the comprehensible reading passage in Spanish. The correct answers will give them the correct color in order to color a beautiful street carpet color by number image.
La Semana Santa Pasaporte Cultural Research Activity
Need an independent activity for students? – Students will research Semana Santa with this activity. They will research the origin and significance Semana Santa, in addition, to traditions and customs. This independent investigation activity is great for sub plans and projects.
